Admissions
Pupils will be admitted at the age of 11 without reference to ability or aptitude. The number of intended admissions for the year commencing 1 September 2010 will be 272 which is the published standard number.
Where applications for admission exceed the number of places available, the following criteria will be applied, in the order set out below, to decide which children to admit.
1. Pupils who are on register in one of the designated primary schools, Albert, Evenlode, Sully, and Victoria. In the event of over-subscription by applicants from the designated primary schools alone, criteria (3) and (4) would be applied to produce an order of preference.
2. Pupils who are not on register on one of the designated contributory schools but who, by virtue of their address (or prospective address), would normally expect to be taught at one of these school.
3. Pupils who have older brothers and/or sisters currently on roll.
4. Pupils of whom the Governors judge there are compelling medical or social grounds for their admission.
5. In determining applications for admissions in respect of other pupils the Governors give particular regard to the degree of proximity of the pupil's home to the school.
The school will agree any changes to its admissions arrangement with the National Assembly. It will establish arrangements for appeals against non-admission which will include an independent element - the Independent Appeal Panel.
