Key Stage Three Art Clubs.
Within the Art Department at Key Stage three pupils are offered a variety of after school activities such as Art Club and Manga Club.
Art Club:
Pupils that attend the Art Club are given opportunities to develop their artwork by receiving additional support with class based activities and participating in National or local competitions. In both cases pupils are encouraged to expand their practical skills when using a wide range of media and increase their knowledge and understanding of new and exciting topics.
Manga Club:
Manga is a popular style of Japanese comic strip cartoons. Within Manga Club the pupils are shown how to create figures in the Manga style and are given guidance on the development of their own Manga characters. The pupils are then able to incorporate their characters into a chosen story or comic strip of their own design. Whilst learning how to create this style of image the pupils develop their knowledge of the formal elements of art and design, possible careers in the arts industry and are encouraged to use a variety of creative skills.
