The Discovery Project

Posted on: Monday 02nd February 2015

The Discovery Project is a mentoring project organised by Cardiff university for young people on the autistic spectrum aged 14+. It runs fortnightly from October-April, meeting every other Tuesday at 5.30pm – 7.30pm in the Bio-sciences Foyer (Sir Martin Evans Building) at Cardiff University. The aim of the project is to give young people a taster of university life, either through touring the various schools on campus, meeting current Cardiff Uni students, or discussing all issues surrounding the transition to University life, such as living with new housemates or coping with a degree level workload. They aim to create a balance between fun and social events such as bowling, as well as giving more practical workshops to support studies and applications for jobs, college and university.

Please click on the flyer attached for contact numbers and information. Referral forms are available from school, please contact Mrs Williams to receive one if you are/know a young person who would benefit from this project.
