Eco Stanwell Litter Less Project 2015

Posted on: Tuesday 08th September 2015

Members of Eco Stanwell Committee have participated in a community project organised by Keep Wales Tidy called the ‘Litter Less Project’. The committee were given the freedom to choose any location within the local area, but decided to complete a cleanup activity in an area that had been neglected for many years. The area concerned is located around a small stream near the Plymouth Road entrance to Alexandra Park in Penarth. The group equipped with suitable equipment on loan from KWT, spent an afternoon collecting litter and generally cleaning up the area. In total 10 large bin bags, 5 traffic cones and 3 fire extinguishers were removed from the location. Members of the public passing on the day all commented on the difference the activity had made and the group aims to return in the near future to ensure it remains litter less. The Eco Stanwell pupils wish to encourage all members of the local community to help them achieve this by placing litter in the nearest bin.
