We offer AQA Economics at GCSE.

Years 10 & 11 are, however, studying 'Personal Economics' and are preparing for an external examination in June. 'Personal Economics' covers the personal life-cycle, choosing to spend, save or borrow, money management and the economics of wages and employment.

In the second year of the course they study 'current economic issues' - exchange rates, international trade and the EU, the Welfare State, growth and the environment. Data response is the main form of assessment.

 

Year 9: Pupils are undertaking the Unit eleven 'Personal Economics' part of the AQA Economics GCSE.They are due to be examined externally in January 2012. Both the syllabus and specimen material can be easily accessed via the AQA Business and Economics website.
