Visits to Tate Galleries
Pupils from year 11, 12 and 13 have recently taken part in visits to the Tate Britain and Tate Modern galleries in London. Both trips provided valuable opportunities for the pupils to develop their contextual understanding of contemporary art and enabled pupils to gather important resources in support of their project work.

International Women’s Day Exhibition at the Washington Gallery
Pupils from the 6th form Art and Design course were invited to attend a question and answer session with artists exhibiting work for International Women’s Day at the Washington Gallery, Penarth. The pupils found this session very informative and relished the opportunity to interact with professional artists, whilst developing their understanding of the work on show.

Global Canvas Competition Entry Exhibition at the Natural History Museum London
In March 2011, two year 7 pupils recently attended an exhibition in the Natural History Museum London, showcasing entries received for the Global Canvas arts competition. Pupils enjoyed having the opportunity to celebrate their success in the competition, view the other entries and meet the wildlife artist David Shepherd.
