Geography trip to Sicily
Posted on: Monday 02nd November 2015
At the end of October, 45 Year 10 and 11 students and 5 members of staff visited areas of geographical interest on the Island of Sicily. Places visited included the tourist resort of Giardini Naxos, Mount Etna, the Islands of Liparia and Vulcano (including a dip in the Vulcano mud baths), a visit to the Alcanatara gorge, a walk around the historic town of Taormina and finally a pizza demonstration and preparation evening. It was a great experience to visit a new destination dominated physically and culturally by the tectonic forces of the area.
