Holocaust Memorial Day

Posted on: Wednesday 11th February 2015

On Monday 9th February, we were honoured to welcome Holocaust Survivor Eva Clarke to Stanwell School. Eva and her family’s story is both harrowing and inspiring and it was a privilege for all involved to listen to their story of persecution and survival. GCSE and A Level History students gathered in the auditorium to listen to the incredible story of Eva’s parents and their experience of the holocaust, finally resulting in Eva’s birth at Mauthausen Concentration Camp. A Level pupils then took part in a workshop with Nick Shepley, an historian and writer. We give our thanks to Eva for visiting our school and giving such a moving and inspiring testimony.
