Military Preparation School Success

Posted on: Tuesday 03rd May 2016

For the past two years some pupils from Year 11 have been studying for one day a week at The Military Preparation School and last Tuesday was their annual award ceremony, which Mrs Kynaston and Mrs Connor were very proud to attend.
During the afternoon we witnessed the students from Cardiff, Bridgend and Rhymney centres parade, complete a gun run and take part in PT exercises.

Once the official proceedings had started, Naomi Hills and Gabi Summers spoke in front of a large audience made up of dignitaries, parents and fellow students. They spoke very well about their experiences during their time at The Military Preparation School and their hopes for the future.

It was with great pride that we witnessed Gabi winning the Best Academic Student; Jonathan Bennett being nominated for the best PT student and Jack McConkey winning Learner of the Year.

The afternoon ended with Gabi, Jack, Jon and Naomi reading Rudyard Kipling’s poem ‘If’.
