Musical and fundraising talent!

Posted on: Monday 09th September 2013

On the 13th July, Robert Cavaye of Year 12 was awarded one of the Cardiff and the Vale of Glamorgan High Schools’ Orchestra’s highest prizes, the Jonathan Gallimore Memorial Award for “wholehearted contribution, accomplishment and personal character of the highest calibre”.

He led the orchestra last year, playing the violin, and now plays double bass while also having moved up to play violin in the Youth Orchestra.

Not one to rest on his laurels, Robert, together with his siblings Alasdair Cavaye of Year 11 and Juliette Cavaye of Year 8 will be attempting to cycle from Land’s End to John O’Groats (approx 940 miles) in August to raise money for Save the Children. They are hoping to raise £625, enough to build a school classroom in Africa. Well done to the whole family.
