Nick Lord visit to the Art Department
Posted on: Friday 11th April 2014
Sky Arts Portrait Artist of the Year Nick Lord will be visiting the Art Department on Tuesday 8th April. Nick has worked with prestigious organisations including the National Portrait Gallery and The British Library and was awarded the recently televised Sky Arts Portrait Artist of the Year 2013.
He was also awarded a £10,000 commission to produce a portrait of Booker winning author Hilary Mantel. The portrait of Mantel has just been hung at The British Library and has become part of its permanent art collection. We are delighted that Nick has agreed to visit us in the Art Department.
He will be running a creative workshop for all Y12 & 13 art students, focusing on his own materials, methods and processes. He will also be talking about his experience of Art Foundation course and Fine Art degree as well as offering advice to students about their own work.
