Behaviour and Discipline Policy
Stanwell recognises that the school plays an important part in assisting the personal and social development of pupils. The school expects the highest standards of behaviour and consideration for others both in and out of school. Pupils are expected to follow positive and constructive rules of conduct while in school and on the journey to and from school.
The school uses a variety of strategies to encourage pupils to achieve high standards of behaviour and self discipline including rewards and punishments.
Procedures include parental contact, awards and certificates, extra work, detention, an ‘on report’ system, exclusion from lessons and exclusion from school.
An important aspect of these procedures is encouraging parents to play their part in the education and discipline of their children.
Our objectives are:
* To encourage pupils to have high expectations of themselves.
* For pupils to develop a set of values that includes truth, honesty, consideration for other people and good manners.
* To encourage pupils to develop sensitive relationships within the school community and in their lives outside school.
* For pupils to develop self discipline.
This policy should be considered in conjunction with the documentation provided for parents in the Behaviour Code and the home school agreement with parents.
