The School Day

The school day will be from 8.30am to 3.05pm with bells to begin and end lessons at 8.40am and 2.55pm.

Daily Act of Collective Worship (DACW): at 8:40am a reading (Thought for the Day) will occur and there will be a time for quiet reflection before the lesson begins.

Arrival at the school gate by pupils after 8.40am (when lessons start in the classrooms) is unacceptable and sanctions are imposed to encourage good punctuality. The bell to end the last lesson will ring at 2.55pm. Pupils going home normally leave the building within 5 minutes and leave the school site within 10 minutes. Teachers will continue to use the ten minutes following the final bell at their discretion.

The normal school day at Stanwell has always been ten minutes before and 10 minutes after the bells to begin and end the first and last lessons.
