On joining Stanwell School, all pupils will be issued with a fob for use in the dining hall to buy food and drink. Each fob has a unique account number that is personal to the pupil and needs to have money added to it before it can be used.
The fob will be issued on the first day of term for Year 7 pupils.
The fob can have credit added to it in a number of ways:
It is the pupil’s responsibility to make sure there is enough credit on the fob to make purchases. They can find out how much is left in their account at any of the coin loaders or till points. Current balances can also be viewed from home on your ParentPay account.
Please remember that if a pupil does not have enough money in their account to buy what they want, they will be asked to put their food/drink back, as we cannot give credit. Also note that none of the tills are able to accept cash to pay for items purchased.
If your child is eligible to receive free school meals when starting in year 7, the School will be notified before he/she starts at Stanwell and his/her fob will automatically be topped up with the relevant daily allowance. If this daily allowance is not spent in full it will not transfer to the next day. Pupils in receipt of free school meals can also top up their fobs with extra ‘cash’ if they wish. The free allowance will be used in full before any additional credit that may have been added is used.
Pupils need to tell a member of staff if they have lost or broken their fob. They will also need to pay £3 for a replacement. Should a fob be lost or broken then the money in the pupil’s account will be available on the replacement. No “money” is held on the fob itself.
Stanwell School has recently introduced a more convenient, online way to pay for school meals using a secure service called ParentPay. It is intended that in the future the service be expanded to enable payments to be made for other items online such as school trips and production tickets.
As well as the convenience for parents, ParentPay will provide Stanwell School with a more efficient payment collection process, reducing the amount of administrative time spent on handling money and banking procedures.
ParentPay offers you the freedom to make payments whenever and wherever you like, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week – safe in the knowledge that the technology used is of the highest internet security available.
Before the end of term you will be sent details of your secure online account. You will need to activate it using a unique username and password that you will be prompted to change the first time you login. If you have more than one child at Stanwell School, you can merge their accounts to create one login for all your children.
Making a payment is straightforward and ParentPay holds a payment history for you to view at a later date; no card details are stored in any part of the system. Once you’ve activated your account you can make online payments straight away.
The School will also accept payment for meals at the school office before 8:30am. Please note that cash (notes only) and cheques (made payable to ‘Stanwell School’) should be placed in an envelope clearly marked with the pupil’s name and fob number and then deposited in the collection box in reception. Coin loaders are also available for pupils to top up their accounts themselves. Cash and cheque payments will be reflected in your son/daughter’s ParentPay online account balance, giving you a record of all payments that have been made to school regardless of which method is used.
