The Student Council.
What is a School Council?
The School Council is a representative group of pupils elected by their peers to discuss matters about education and to raise concerns with the senior managers and governors of Stanwell School.
The Welsh Assembly Government wants all students to enjoy their education and to feel that the school responds to their needs. Students have the opportunity to let adults know their feelings and opinions about things that affect them.
Students should also be able to have a say about decisions, and to play an active role in making Stanwell School a better place.
Stanwell School Council
The School Council is made up of two representatives from each year. All members have been voted in and are responsible for passing on the opinions of their year groups to the Council in order to (hopefully!) make Stanwell the best it can be!
This year so far, we have helped to raise money for Children in Need by selling Pudsey Bear badges and Pudsey Bear cake in the canteen and Sixth Form cafe. We have also discussed possible changes to the school uniform, fundraising ideas and changes to the sixth form which we'll keep each year updated on.
Any ideas or suggestions are always welcome!
