Year 12 Enterprise Day
Posted on: Sunday 29th September 2013
On Thursday 12th September, our new cohort of sixth-formers enjoyed a day’s activities to kick-start their enterprise projects as part of the work related education element of the Welsh Baccalaureate.
In groups they have to set up a mini-enterprise and devise and produce goods to sell at the Stanwell Open Day on 8th October. They learnt about the skills and attributes of entrepreneurs and then had a team-building challenge to make a bridge out of newspaper. Company roles and business planning were also investigated and the groups then spent the afternoon researching and planning their business ideas.
On Friday 20th September they have to present their ideas to local business people in a Dragons’ Den activity in order to bid for a school loan to set up their enterprise project.
