Year 9 Geography Visit to London February 2015
Posted on: Tuesday 10th February 2015
Geography pupils from Year 9 visited London for two days during the first week of February 2015. The aim was to gain valuable fieldwork skills in preparation for controlled assessment assignments all Geography pupils are expected to complete as part of the GCSE course. The first day involved a ride in the ‘Emirates Cable Car’ to gain an aerial view of the O2 Arena and other redeveloped areas along the River Thames. Visits to the ‘Sustainable Cities’ exhibition and the Natural History Museum followed. The second day involved a visit to the redeveloped Stratford area of London where the Olympic Park now shows evidence of the legacy of the 2012 London Olympics and a study of why these games were described as the ‘greenest Olympics ever’!
