Dear Parents/Carers,

It is my pleasure and privilege to welcome you to Stanwell School. We hope that the prospectus and school website will provide you with some insight into life at the school. This is a very special place with a long tradition of excellence and a relentless focus on standards and continuous improvement.  Stanwell School is proud to be at the heart of the local community and we are committed to developing ambitious, capable learners who are creative contributors, ready to play a full part in life and work.  Stanwell is a diverse, welcoming and positive school and pupil wellbeing is at the centre of everything we do to ensure learners make progress and feel valued.

We are hugely proud of our students who flourish not only academically but as confident young people who are able to develop resilience and lead fulfilling lives. Our mission statement is ‘Learning to Excel’ and this is the vision for every child, whatever their starting points, interests or talents. Stanwell believes in every young person’s potential to succeed and all of our energies go into ensuring that this potential is fulfilled in a disciplined and caring environment.  This is reflected in our focus on promoting respect, kindness and effort and the professional development of our talented staff.  Our commitment to securing excellence is built upon a reflective approach to teaching and learning, a strong emphasis on pastoral care and support and a rich and broad range of extra-curricular opportunities that span the arts, music, drama and sport. To ensure pupils have opportunities and facilitate a passion for learning and experiences, we have invested heavily in the school facilities and are committed to ensuring a high quality environment.  This has ensured that pupils can learn in a safe, calm and stimulating environment where they have access to first-class sports and performing arts spaces as well as state-of-the-art technology to enhance their wellbeing, develop their skills and encourage their engagement.

Our young people, staff and governors are immensely proud of the school and the excellent outcomes achieved over time and we will continue to work hard to ensure your child flourishes.
